and a note about my earlier publication

Note: I sent out an earlier post to paid subscribers with a second half of this piece discussing the hatred directed at Dr Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn, Australia’s female breaker who went viral over the weekend for her performance at the Paris Olympics. I have now unpublished that post (yes, five minutes after it was scheduled), because while yesterday I wrote this piece criticising how many (white men) have been bullying her - I have just spent a few hours reading different critiques discussing how Gunn was selected, the way in which she is allowed to fail as a white woman and why the critiques of her performance matter to breaking holistically. I want to retract the initial piece because of the subsequent reading I have done. Here is the first half of the post published again, and I will publish another piece on Thursday.
