Valid choice. As you say, better to ensure no accidents than to create another human and regret it. My daughter chose to have her fallopian tubes removed for exactly all your reasons. I did find it confronting when she first told me. I think, because it's an active choice to have surgery to remove something, it appears so final. As you say, fostering is a choice for some. Being involved with other people's children is another option, with less commitment- and more fun!

This is an awesome article! Articulates a lot of the sentiment I hear from friends, who not infrequently don’t want kids, but for all of the reasons above don’t talk about the elephant in the room (being a vasectomy). Also liked you making it clear that vasectomies are often very reversible procedures (for some reason knowing this really puts people’s minds at ease). Really appreciate you putting this in writing - thank you!
