Hope is harder to come by in 2025. In the political arena, that scarcity is more prominent. In an era of crumbling western democracies, public trust in institutions of power has been rightly eroded.
Calling the United States’ Democratic Party or the Australian Labor Party ‘progressive’ is like suggesting yoghurt is a happy alternative to ice-cream. Hollow and disappointing.
